The need to exploit new technologies to serve citizens, businesses and European countries at the level of regions and cities is becoming more and more urgent based on new data followed by the outbreak of the pandemic.
Young people in Europe recognize these needs and preparing for the next day of digital cities aiming at a competitive digital economy in European and worldwide.
The 3 pillars of approach that will contribute to the achievement of the process, focus on the technology of citizen services, a fair and competitive digital economy and finally an open, democratic and sustainable society. Reversing environmental pollution through climate change will also play an important role.
The forthcoming decade is considered as the “Digital Decade” for Europe. This will create models for the technological infrastructure of the regions as well as the adoption of new technologies by European citizens. For all the above, the Union of Young Local Governments of Greece will be an assistant in the new European vision.
